A rainy week off 08/06/2008

Sennen's seen a few long faces over the last couple of weeks due to this weather. I know how the tourists feel as i too have booked a week off work. Despite the weather, the surf has been good (thankfully) and the Ripcurl Boardmasters is in full flow. I noticed Alan Stokes won his first heat and that Russ Winter took an early exit ! My brother Seb continued his contest success, winning the under 16's devision...He now gets a place into the Europe version, held in France later this Month....If the surf gets big, I reckon he's in for a good chance !

Rainy.......... but still busy !!

When the surf is flat at Sennen, have a diving contest.

Sam and Seb took each other on, here is the outcome.

Below........ Seb's first dive was nice and close to the rocks, great posture, good landing................7.5 from the judges

Below...........Sam's face plant....perfect................8.5 from the judges

below........Although he got swept off the rocks on the way out

Below.....Seb's winning dive. !!!!!!

Bro Seb n Bert on the harbour wall 'dicing with death' on a 2 ft day.....realy????  The duo made national press for wave dodging on the pier.

www.chapelidne.com hosted the Sennen surftech demo tour this weekend.

With great waves and weather, we were all stoked with the weekend.

Over 100 people tried out the boards and not one came back dinged.Thank Pat Dowling of Chapel idne surf shop and team riders Alan Stokes and sam Bleakley for their support.

'Secretspot surf shop hosted stop 1 of this years free surftech demo tour. Cayton Bay produced 2 ft conditions, ideal for everyone to try out the huge range of the very latest surftech models.

The new Joel Tudor models, 5'10 'Surtech' and 'xanadu' fish got used the most as well as the '9 ft hobie psd'. Myself, sibling Seb Smart aswell as the rest of the team were there to offer advise about board selection.

Half of scarborough turned up for the weekend as well as local hero 'Tomo of secretpot' who did a great job with the barbi!.

Thanks local ripper James Turner who showed Seb and myself an awesome night out...................(how seb got in to the clubs , i dont know?)

Flat day fun ! 05/25/2008

To be honest, i didnt like the look of stand up paddle boarding at first. However, you gotta try these things out ! My board is an 11' 6" laird, Surtech, nearly 30 inches wide and over 4 inches thick. If the surf's  tiny, il be out on it as its improving my core strength for boxing and helping my general balance. just waiting to see how she goes in the bigger stuff............!

Not always this smart !

Been going through some photos from Australia and found this one.I forgot i took it. It's a 6 inch wave that was lapping the shore at Moreton island. If only you could shrink yourself !
